My childhood home is located in this neck of the woods. Even though there was no hiking trail in Viru bog at the time, our family often came here to pick berries and mushrooms, and my father for work. Now, there is a lovely hiking trail where you can explore the bog. There is a footpath leading through a pine forest, a boardwalk in the middle of picturesque bogs, an observation tower, as well as a picnic area near the Kalmeoja parking lot.
